The Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation is appointed by the city council to administer the budget generated by a half-cent sales tax approved by voters in 1992 to fund Parks and Recreation facilities. Since that time, the board has overseen the construction of a major athletic complex for soccer and baseball, the renovation and expansion of several city parks and the construction of the city's first recreation center Mansfield Activities Center (MAC).
